Announcing the ON CAMERA Audition “Tech”nique Class

LISTEN. THINK. RESPOND.

“ Learn how to break these annoying habits that scream Amateur ! ”

Be prepared and be informed. All participants will work with cold reads, scene adjustments, and will be ON CAMERA. These classes are designed to help you understand what the job of an actor is, and how to make sure you don’t make costly mistakes.

Casting director Bill Marinella has been involved in motion pictures for over 20 years , first as an actor and sag member for 23 years and now behind the scenes for the last 15 years, learning and now sharing the casting process. The classes for audition technique are part seminar and part classwork, and taught in 3 parts. In class 1, we prepare the “pre read, where students get a firsthand look on how a casting session is run, what it takes to see and read actors , the research of the script and each characters “breakdown”. In week 2 it’s the “callback session” which explains what producers are looking for and what they say about you after you leave the audition, and in week 3, it’s the” producer session”, taking the previous two classes and viewing your work and then throwing you more script as a cold read, and what we say to agents, deal memos and how you can get your agent to get you different things

We’ll cover:

Ø How to slate- Did You know there are 4 parts to slating that actually roll into one?

Ø What to ask- I personally love an actor that asks a carefully crafted question.

Ø When its okay to “Improv” Sometimes improve is good.

Ø “Who” you are talking to, and what’s between the lines.

Ø How to discover better choices, and prepare that “moment” before

Did you know that …

Ø Casting Directors and Producers size you up within the first 30 seconds when you walk through the door?

Ø The energy you bring through the door from the first step, combined with your slate and the direction you are given during your performance are the TOP three things that helps actors get call backs?

It’s not just your acting skills – it’s also your “ Tech”nique

CONSIDER THIS …

Has any casting director ever pointed out to you or your agent that you have any of the following “Syndromes”?

Ø The “mouth schtick”

Ø The “clenchfist” syndrome

Ø The “deer in the headlights” face

Ø The “ over the top, gregarious, so nice to see you, please hire me” audition

Ø The apologetic “Can I start over, I messed up because I’m nervous and unprepared”

Ø

If so, then you need to “ LISTEN, THINK, and then RESPOND! ”
